(X-Ray)Low Dose Radiation

Low Dose Digital X-Rays Treatment

At our dental practices we offer the safety and efficiency of state-of-the art, low dose, digital dental radiography. We are committed to using the latest in everything dental to ensure your visit is the most comfortable it can be.

Digital Dental X-rays utilise just upto one-third of the radiation than the conventional X-ray films used in the past & pose no risk to our environment – as they completely eliminate the need for chemicals required for regular X-ray processing.

Digital X-ray imaging allows faster image processing, shortening the duration of time you spend in chair as well as offering the increased safety benefits associated with decreased radiation exposure.

The high resolution diagnostic images allow for accurate diagnosis of dental problems. The detailed image is almost instantaneously translated onto our computer screen, carrying with it all the advantages of other digitalized images: it can be magnified, adjusted for contrast, and used for diagnostic evaluation of cavities, gum disease and bone loss, as well as infections.

OPG

An OPG is a digital panoramic or wide view x-ray of the lower face, which displays all the teeth of the upper and lower jaw on a single film.

It demonstrates the number, position and growth of all the teeth including those that have not yet surfaced or erupted. It is different from the small close up x-rays dentists take of individual teeth.

An OPG may be requested for the planning of orthodontic treatment, for assessment of wisdom teeth or for a general overview of the teeth and the bone which supports the teeth.

The convenience of our on-site OPG X-ray unit means there is no need for referral to a separate radiology centre for full arch dental imaging and no need for re-scheduling for further treatment.
